Happy 2012!

It’s going to be a great year for Laynie Harris Photography!

Won’t you help me make it a success?

The last three months of 2011 were super busy for me with family sessions for the holidays. I will update the blog with some of the pics. But for now…

You speak.  I listen.  Gift Certificates now available!  Contact me at laynie@laynieharris.com to purchase one!

I’ve been inspired by the things I see on Pinterest.  While this idea was not of my own, I figured I could kill two birds with one stone.  1)  Clean out my closet of old work shirts that I will never use again, 2)  Make my own Christmas gifts.  You can fit a lot of different things in here!

  • Gift cards
  • USB flash drives
  • Lipsticks or lip gloss
  • And more!Image

This was an idea that was pinned on one of my boards on Pinterest via Up Cycle Your Life

I’ve been seeing these DIY photo canvases all over on Pintereset. I wanted to do one and while I was at Jo-Ann’s yesterday I was scoping out the supplies I would need. I found these awesome MINI canvases and easels. Each were $1.99, but were on sale for $1.19. (Sale ends today!!!)

Here’s what I made, step-by-step:

This was our 3rd re-scheduled date/time for a photo session with Bradley. Just before I was about to leave for this photo session, I got a call from my daughter’s school. One of her teachers, Ms. Kristy, tells me that Mia is not herself. She won’t eat, she won’t sleep, but appears tired. Ms. Kristy tells me it’s up to me to leave her or get her, but she just wanted to let me know. On one hand, I can’t LEAVE my 15-month old daughter. On the other hand, I canNOT be the one to say we have reschedule this session (AGAIN). My husband was unreachable so I call my mom. YES! She can go pick Mia up!

Due to the fever of the holiday season and the request for bookings, I will be extending my mini session time-slots.

Mini session = 30 minutes of shooting time, 5 high-resolution professionally edited photos delivered to you digitally , and my time.

Weekday mini = $45
Weekend mini = $55

Contact me at laynie@laynieharris.com for booking!

Finally my credit card reader has arrived! I can now process credit cards on-location via my Android smartphone!

I met Schlaine at a garage sale I had earlier in the year. I was selling all of my GOOD baby stuff. My Bumbo, my baby slings, Boppy (with covers), baby tub, etc. – and she scooped it all up. Smart girl! I KNEW I would like her. :) Anyway, time passed and before I knew it she had her baby. So here we are three months later for some family portraits done at a local park in our neighborhood. It was a short and sweet session. For $45 you can’t go wrong! Contact me to book your session!

Due to the high volume of bookings, I’m doing mini sessions. In 30 minutes of shooting, you are promised five (5) finished, professionally retouched, photos. I’m opening up one more day in October for more chances for you to book!

Take a look at my latest session last week at Orlando Loch Haven Park.

Yesterday, I met up with an old co-worker. Funny, how time flies. We’re both now married and have two kids. Kim has two beautiful children. Allison (3 years) and Aaron (8 months). It was a photo shoot to document Aaron’s 8-month birthday as well as a dress-up session in their Halloween costumes. I have given Kim her edited photos, but she’s not releasing the ones of them all dressed up so I can’t release them here either. Here are the four of Aaron. I asked Kim if he ever stops smiling. Her answer was no. This is such a great age. I miss this age with my kids. So if you haven’t booked a session, do it now! Remember, mini sessions are for October only. *NEW* offers in November. But, take advantage of the $45, 30-minute session!

The school that Mia and Andrew go to will having this event called “Shopping Open House”. This is an event that the moms have put together, headed by Diane (Paul’s mom aka Andrew’s classmate), to help raise money for the Mother’s Day Out (MDO) program at the First Baptist Sweetwater. The moms have been invited to be vendors selling their ‘products’. Some moms have handmade, unique items and others represent companies like Mary Kay cosmetics, Thirty-One Gifts, Pampered Chef, etc. There will be more than 10 vendors at this event!

I am advertising photography services for family portraits – just in time for the holidays and selling baby accessories. I will have an assortment of tutus (for infants and toddlers), binky grips, and headbands with interchangeable clips for baby girls.
